ABOUT ME

The world is Fierce. In my travels in the Caribbean, Mexico, India, Nepal and the United Kingdom I have observed that you must train yourself to always be in a state of "Situational Awareness". I have been blessed to study under and with a few true Filipino Masters in their brutal, "take no prisoners" Systems. What I teach isn't necessarily pretty but my desire is to assist you on your Warrior Journey. It will become at times an Arduous Task. "It may become slow progress, but quitting won't make it faster." Muñiz School of Filipino Warrior Arts.

GREAT QUOTES FOR MARTIAL APPLICATION

Zephaniah 3:17 "The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.

He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you,

but will rejoice over you with singing.”

"Slow is Smooth, Smooth is Fast"

― Mitsuyo "Count Koma" Maeda Japanese JiuJitsu and Judo Master

“If an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared.”

― Niccolo Machiavelli, The Prince

“Never attempt to win by force what can be won by deception.”

― Niccolò Machiavelli, The Prince

“Never was anything great achieved without danger.”

― Niccolo Machiavelli

“And here comes in the question whether it is better to be loved rather than feared, or feared rather than loved. It might perhaps be answered that we should wish to be both; but since love and fear can hardly exist together, if we must choose between them, it is far safer to be feared than loved.”

― Niccolò Machiavelli, The Prince

“If there’s any satisfaction in what you did, then what you did isn’t really right because you tried to do something and it took effort to do it. If you did something and you did not feel anything, then what you did is right because you did it without effort. That’s mastery.”

― Master Ner

OUR DEEPEST FEAR

By Marianne Williamson

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?”

Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Alison Kinney - "Opera has facilitated terror and violence, daring us to quit it. It’s also inspired the strong, visceral emotions of healing, hope, empathy, outrage, dissent, and justice. Its meanings are never inert."

Psalm 144:1,2 “Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.

Jose Marti:  "No me entierren en lo oscuro/ A morir como un traidor/ Yo soy bueno y como bueno/ Moriré de cara al sol." ("Do not bury me in darkness / to die like a traitor / I am good, and as a good man / I will die facing the sun.") " “Los hombres se dividen en dos bandos: los que aman y fundan, los que odian y deshacen. (Men are divided into two camps: those who love and build, those who hate and destroy.)"

I recently read a Great Article on the Internet that I suggest you peruse at your leasure and possibly contemplate:

GROUP SESSIONS

RULES FOR PRACTICE

*translated from Old Martial Arts handbook

  1. A Martial Arts blow can kill your Adversary. During your Practice obey your Instructor and don’t waste time of practice by unnecessarily proving your strength.

  2. In the Martial Arts a person learns to confront many adversaries simultaneously,  Therefore, require of yourself to polish and perfect the execution of each movement, in such a manner that you can react not only to the one that is before you but also those that approach you from other directions.

  3. In every moment of Practice: Practice with the Attitude of Great Joy.

  4. The Teachings of your Instructor constitute only a small fraction of your learning. Dominating each movement will depend almost completely on your serious individual established Practice.

  5. Daily Practice should begin with gentle body movements that will gradually increase in intensity and force, but should never be done extremely forcefully. The basis of this fact is so that the elderly practitioner can practice with great pleasure without physical danger so they can meet their goals.

MUÑIZ SCHOOL OF FILIPINO WARRIOR ARTS is based on an old Filipino system. We are the KAPATID, the Brotherhood. There is the Older Brother (KUYA in the Filipino Language (me) instructing the Younger Brothers. I also have older brothers (our KUYAS).There will be some brothers that will have a little more training and should be respected for their knowledge. No disrespect to any of the KAPATID will be tolerated.
